Ocean's Twelve

Steven Soderbergh's made a fine mess out of this sequel to his snazzy and clever 2001 film Ocean's Eleven. A shame, too. It's one of those cases where the remake worked despite the fact that remakes rarely do, and they pressed their luck with a sequel. The whole thing is just a jumble and it's easy to get lost or bored or both. None of the characters are as sharp, and none of them feel nearly as cool, either. The whole mess with Tess (Julia Roberts) looking just like Julia Roberts is silly and embarrassing.
